Every plant, every pot, every piece of land with a garden spot is different. Just as there are no two humans exactly alike, so too are the gardens of the world. So if you think that all the tips and techniques will work for your garden you will be sadly mistaken. Trial and error is the way of the gardener as it is with so many other things in life.
Just to be clear -the tips that any master gardener will give you might not work as well in your own situation, so sometimes you have to modify. There are so many variables that go into planning, planting, and maintaining your garden. Latitude and longitude, air quality, water source, pest population - all these and much, much more are what determines the best type of gardening, the best plants to plant, and the best methods of maintenance for your particular area.
This being said, there ARE tips that can be tried (then tweaked if need be) to enhance how, when, and where you garden. The most important piece of the puzzle is you - you must find the best way for your situation, and taking tips from others who have gone before is a really great way to start. You never know, you may just be the next one to give new tips and techniques to the next generation of soil lovers!
